The Pacific Crest Trail – 2650 miles or 4,279 km from Mexico to Canada on foot.
The route passes through 25 national forests and 7 national parks. Along with the Appalachian Trail and the Continental Divide Trail these make up first three long-distance trails in the U.S. To successfully thru-hiking all of these three trails is known as the Triple Crown of Hiking.
In 2015 I decided I’d keep traveling for a little bit longer and headed to the US. I would see the country on foot making my way through California, Oregon and Washington. Whilst travelling I read Wild, Into the Wild and White Fang and found myself quite inspired by the American Wilderness and a certain trail called the PCT. After reading a bit further and becoming obsessed with a few thru-hiker blogs along the way I decided to head out there myself.
